Day 92 of 100 - Attitude is Everything

April 2nd.

Our attitude can take us to the highest mountain top or the lowest ocean bottom.  We have the ability to choose, but often we don't. Unfortunately, a bad attitude is usually the default because we have a lifetime of mental inertia and social conditioning to compete with. A forward looking, goal oriented attitude comes naturally to almost no one. Even the best of us have learned strategies to bash that bummer of bad attitude back where it belongs. About two decades previous when we thought it worked for us one time, and we have been using it unsuccessfully ever since.  I came in casual contact with my bad attitude today doing leg exercises...

I REALLY need to do heavy back squats to improve my Crossfit scores, but MAN it requires focus. I felt my mind saying, "man this is heavy, this sucks", but I caught it. My goal is to get stronger and beat my PR of 300 pounds.  So before I started the second set I DECIDED to say to myself, "get stronger, get stronger, get stronger," and my whole workout turned around.  I finished off the squats by doing 2 deep reps of 275lbs.

Repeat your goals to yourself while WARMING UP and watch your workouts go to a higher level altogether.
